As part of the ArtsConnex, we are committed to high standards of education, as well as advocating the importance of arts education to our members through professional training. Entract members proudly receives more one-on-one professional training than most other similar programs.

Nick Turnbull is a prolific composer and conductor from Calgary, Canada. Born in Colombia, he began his music career at a very young age, singing and playing multiple instruments, from there he began exploring composition and has since written works for various events and mediums including live shows, film/television, concert bands, choirs, international festivals and sporting events, to name a few. His music can be heard and purchased worldwide. He studied music at the University of Calgary where he pursued a Bachelor of Arts in Music, specializing in choral conducting. Nick has been accepted to the Berklee School of Music where he plans to further his knowledge of music business, and composition, with further plans to pursue a music education degree. Nick has won numerous awards for his contributions to the arts community, as well as excellence in the fields of choral and instrumental conducting. He is an active member of the American Choral Director's Association, as well as Choir Alberta (formerly, the Alberta Choral Federation) and Choir Canada. Nick is internationally known for his innovative approach to music education, and refreshing educational methods, which make the learning music process an exciting adventure.
As a conductor and clinician, Nick is actively sought throughout Canada and has conducted workshops and adjudicated festivals throughout North America and South America. He is the founder of Fondation ArtsConnex Foundation, where he currently serves as the Executive Director. He is also the founder of Calgary-based music publishing company, NorthStrong Music, which specializes in Canadian choral, jazz, orchestral and band music. If he can find spare time, Nick loves to be outdoors, travel for leisure and to fly in airplanes.
Lindsay Phillips is an all around music lover, performer and educator. She received her Bachelor of Music Degree in Voice in June 2015 and is currently in the final year of the teacher Education program at the Werklund School of Education majoring in secondary fine arts (music). She has been the recipient of numerous University Vocal and Choral Scholarships. During her music degree she focused on vocal pedagogy, vocal performance and choral and instrumental conducting. During her secondary school years she performed at the Calgary Stampede and was the anthem singer for the sporting events at SAIT Polytechnic. She has fifteen years of musical education, fifteen years of playing experience and five years of teaching experience. She has been a private voice and beginner piano instructor to students ages 4-18+ for the past five years and is currently teaching singing throughout Calgary. Her musical styles include Classical, Musical Theatre, Pop, Country, and Jazz.
